Ahmet Uysal DIRECTOR OF MIDDLE EASTERN STUDIES CENTER (ORSAM) & PROFESSOR, ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY

Professor Ahmet Uysal is a political sociologist interested in Arab Affairs and Turkish-Arab relations. Dr. Uysal graduated from the Middle Technical University’s sociology department. He received his master’s and doctoral degrees from Southern Illinois University. He is the author of the book Turkey’s Image in Egypt before and after the Revolution in Turkish and Sociology of Social Movements (in Turkish). Prof. Ahmet Uysal is also the founding director of the Center for Iranian Studies and currently serves as the director of the ORSAM Center. Since, 2010, Prof. Uysal has coordinated several Arab-Turkish congresses on the social sciences (ATCOSS). He speaks English, Arabic and some French.
