Alistair Burt Pro-Chancellor, Lancaster University

Rt Hon Alistair Burt is currently the Pro-Chancellor of Lancaster University in the North West of England, a Distinguished Fellow RUSI, and is on the Council of ECFR. A former Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, he served in the UK Foreign Office and Department of International Development for a total of five years between 2010 and 219. He was also a Member of Parliament for thirty-two years, retiring in 2019. He is the UK’s Commissioner on the International Commission on Missing Persons based in The Hague and a UK Trustee of the humanitarian organisation International Rescue Committee.
