Alvin Curling FORMER CANADIAN AMBASSADOR TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND A FORMER MINISTER OF HOUSING AND MINISTER OF SKILLS DEVELOPMENT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO

Dr Alvin Curling is a former Canadian Ambassador to the Dominican Republic (2005-2006) and a former Minister of Housing and Minister of Skills Development of the Government of Ontario (1985-1990). He was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 1985 where he served as an MPP until 2005. He was elected Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 2003, becoming the first black person to do so. He is a recipient of the Order of Ontario as well as the Order of Distinction of Jamaica.
