Charles Burchell FOUNDER OF LEX SOUNDS

Charles “BLVK Samurai” Burchell is a music producer, rapper, multi-instrumentalist, and educator. Burchell is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Burchell has performed nationally and internationally and given masterclasses at various universities around the world. Burchell has also taught and designed music programs for different schools and institutions. In 2015 Burchell was accepted into the Next Level Hip Hop cultural diplomacy program. Burchell has worked in cultural diplomacy for the last six years while teaching music production programs at John Cabot University and Saint Louis College of Music. Burchell has performed and recorded with many artists, including Talib Kweli, Jason Moran, Christian Scott, Braxton Cook and Omar Sosa. He has produced three albums with his band The Love Experiment and recently started a sample pack label, LEX Sounds, in partnership with the popular music production website Splice. Burchell has designed an online course on the Art of Hip Hop Production with music education platform Soundfly and writes music-related articles for Soundfly, Splice, and Roland.
