Dorothée Schmid SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW, HEAD OF TURKEY AND MIDDLE EAST PROGRAM, IFRI

Dorothée Schmid holds a diploma from Science-Po Paris and a Ph.D. from Panthéon University. She worked as a country-risk analyst for Crédit Agricole-Indosuez and a consultant for public institutions, NGOs and private businesses before joining IFRI in 2002. She established IFRI’s Turkey programme in 2008 and became director of the MENA department in 2015. She has produced extensive analysis on EU and French policies in the Middle East, induced democratisation and the political economy of the region. Her current research focusses on the new competition of powers, Turkey’s evolving diplomacy and post-conflict agendas.
