Dr. Uygur taught Persian classes at different levels and translated almost ten books about Iranian culture, history, and politics from Persian to Turkish. He was invited to work in PUIC, Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States as director of Administration and Protocol by the Secretary-General of the Union in 2010. He started the PhD program in Persian Language and Literature at Tehran University in 2011 and finished his thesis in February 2015. He worked at the Middle East Desk of TRT World Channel between 2015-16.
Since 2018 he has been the Director of the Center for Iranian Studies.
