Halit Yerebakan ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, YEDITEPE UNIVERSITY SPECIALITY HOSPITAL, CARDIOVASCULAR SURGERY

Dr. Yerebakan is Medical Director and an Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at Yeditepe University Hospital. He still performs dozens of heart operations annually. His interests include heart replacement surgery, minimally invasive surgery, peripheral arterial diseases, integrative medicine and healthcare policy.  He has authored over 100 original publications. He also authors a newspaper column at Sabah Newspaper which is distributed nationally.

Dr. Yerebakan was born in İstanbul, Turkey, and received his medical degree from Istanbul Science University (2006) and obtained a joint cardiovascular surgery specialist degree (2012) from the Yeditepe University and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons School of Medicine.  Following his clinical research fellowship in heart transplantation at Columbia University, he has returned to Turkey and lives in İstanbul with his wife Esra of 13 years and their two children, Rana and Omer.

In addition to belonging to most major professional society for heart surgeons, Dr. Yerebakan has worked as board member to Turkish Green Crescent Society, and also Health Politics Council of Ministry of Health of Republic of Turkey. As and RAB certified lead auditor, he works as quailiy improvement director and ethical board member of Yeditepe University Hospitals.

Previously, Dr. Yerebakan was a featured health expert on “Good Opinion” at TRT1 television for 3 seasons, spanning over 100 episodes.  Currently, Dr. Yerebakan hosts “Rhythm Of Life” health show, which is named after his authored book for the 3rd season, spanning over 250 episodes. His show was awarded as “The Best Medical Show” in 2019 by Medical Sciences University of Ministry of Health.
