Haydar Oruç is a Middle East researcher with expertise in Palestine, Israel, and Turkish foreign policy. After serving 25 years in the Turkish Navy, he retired in 2014 and pursued doctoral studies in Middle East Studies at Sakarya University’s Middle East Institute, where he also worked as a researcher in the Israel Studies unit.
From 2019 to 2021, he served as a Levant Specialist at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM), leading research on Palestine and Israel. Currently an independent researcher, Oruç continues to conduct research on the Middle East and Turkish foreign policy, contributes analyses to various platforms, and appears as a commentator on television.
