Helin Sarı Ertem received her MA in Journalism from the City University of London and initially worked as a television journalist before entering academia. She earned her PhD in International Relations from Marmara University, Istanbul, in March 2010. Since 2015, she has been a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at Istanbul Medeniyet University. Her research focuses on Turkish and American foreign policy, Middle East politics, the identity-security nexus, international relations theory, and China’s rise in the 21st century. She has authored and co-authored numerous book chapters and articles on Turkish and American foreign policy and Middle Eastern affairs.
