Huda Al-Atassi is a humanitarian leader and co-founder of International Humanitarian Relief (IHR), with extensive experience in civil society coordination, peacebuilding, and development across the Middle East. She has been instrumental in advancing humanitarian responses for women, children, and internally displaced persons in Syria and beyond.
Ms. Al-Atassi serves as a member of the Syrian National Dialogue Committee and sits on the board of the Union of Local Federations of Syrian Civil Society Organizations (ULFED) in Türkiye. She previously led the Union of Syrian Civil Society Organizations (UCSCO), representing more than 150 member groups, and has actively participated in numerous UN-facilitated consultations on Syria’s future.
Her leadership and dedication to humanitarian action have been recognized internationally. She received the Arab Women’s Leadership Award (2015, Washington, D.C.) and the Save the Children Honor (2014, London) for her outstanding contributions to humanitarian work.
