Ippeita Nishida Senior Fellow, Japan-U.S. and Security Studies Unit, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation

Ippeita Nishida is a Senior Fellow in the Japan-U.S. and Security Studies Unit at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. His research focuses on Japan’s foreign engagement policies and security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. He also chairs the “Expert Panel on Ministry of Defense Capacity Building” at Japan’s Ministry of Defense. Nishida is the lead editor and author of a book on Japan’s Defense Diplomacy (2021, available in Japanese only), and regularly contributes policy analysis and commentary for both Japanese and international audiences. He holds an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
