President of Defense Industries, Turkish Presidency,
Graduating from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Aeronautical Engineering, Demir received his masters in Applied Mechanics of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University and a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at Washington State University. After several studies at British Columbia University and Victoria University, he was assigned to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at King Suud University as Assistant Professor, followed by Associate Professor on Elements and Materials of Aircraft at the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics at ITU.
Following the positions of Assistant General Manager of Turkish Airlines and General Manager of Turkish Technic, he was assigned to Undersecretary of Defence Industries in 2014. He also conducted studies in PNNL at Washington State University.
Holding the Presidency of the Defence Industries restructured in 2018 as “Presidency of Republic of Turkey, Presidency of Defence Industries”, Prof. Demir continues his duties as the Chairman of the Executive Board of Turkish Armed Forces Foundation and the Presidency of the Council of TJU.
