İsmail Demir, graduated from ITU Aircraft Engineering and took master’s degree on Aeronautics and Space at Michigan University and doctorate on Machinery Engineering at Washington State University. He also made semiconducting single crystal growth studies at Canada, British Columbia and Victoria Universities. He was appointed to Assistant Professor in Department of Machinery Engineering at Saudi Arabia King Suud University and promoted to Associate Professor on Aircraft Elements and Materials at ITU Department of Aircraft and Space Sciences. Demir conducted researches on material, numeric modelling, micro and mesomechanic and nanotechnology at Livermore Northwest Pasific National Laboratories, Washington State University. He also carried out studies at Washington State University Material Researches Center. Subsequent to THY Assistant General Manager and THY Technic A.Ş. General Directorate, Demir was appointed as President of Defence Industries.
