Jamal Elshayyal is the Director of Al Jazeera360, the award-winning streaming platform of the Al Jazeera Media Network, which has become one of the fastest-growing OTT platforms in the Arab world since its launch in September 2024.
Prior to this role, he served as a Senior Correspondent for Al Jazeera English, covering major global events including the 2010 Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara, the 2011 Arab Spring, and the 2013 military coup in Egypt.
Elshayyal joined Al Jazeera English in 2006 as part of the channel’s launch team, where he was appointed its first Middle East Desk Editor. He has reported extensively on Palestine, the Arab world, and related regional issues.
