Laila El-Haddad is a James Beard Award–winning Palestinian writer, journalist, and public speaker from Gaza. She is the co-author of The Gaza Kitchen: A Palestinian Culinary Journey, a landmark work that intertwines oral history, political analysis, and cultural memory, and the co-editor of Gaza Unsilenced, compiled with the late Dr. Refaat Alareer.
Through her work as a journalist, storyteller, and documentarian, El-Haddad provides profound insight into the lived realities of Gaza and the wider region. Her writing explores the intersections of food, politics, and identity, artfully blending personal narrative with social and political commentary.
She holds degrees in Political Science and Public Policy from Duke University and the Harvard Kennedy School.
