Maryyum Mehmood ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, EDWARD CADBURY CENTRE FOR THE PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF RELIGION, UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM

Dr. Maryyum Mehmood is the Associate Director of the Edward Cadbury Centre for the Public Understanding of Religion at the University of Birmingham. She is also a Young Religious Leader-Media Maker for the UNAOC (United Nations Alliance of Civilizations) and EDIN (Empowering Dialogue & Interfaith Networks) programme. Dr. Mehmood is the Founder of The SHIFT, a social impact-driven space that seeks to increase religious literacy and foster social harmony while tackling gender-based violence and racism. Currently, Dr. Mehmood is spearheading a global campaign against spiritual abuse in faith-based communities. Alongside this, she serves as a trustee for various charitable organisations.
