Dr. Mehmet Köse graduated from the Faculty of Political Science at Istanbul University and holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Istanbul Bilgi University. He completed his Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University, specializing in diaspora politics.
Before entering public service, Dr. Köse worked in the private sector. He later served as an Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office, and subsequently as both Vice President and President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Turkish state institution responsible for diaspora affairs and international students.
He is currently active in several think tanks, where his research focuses on migration, diaspora studies, Africa, the Middle East, and Turkish foreign policy. Dr. Köse has authored numerous articles and books in these fields.
