Mohamad Safa Executive Director and Main Representative of PVA at the United Nations

Mohamad Safa is an internationally recognized diplomat and advocate for international law, human rights, social justice, and climate action, with more than 15 years of diplomatic, humanitarian, and socio-economic experience. He has worked across political, religious, and ethnic divides—both in UN chambers and in the field—advancing peace, dialogue, relief, conflict prevention, and multilateral cooperation. His initiatives and projects, which he designed, implemented, and funded, have directly benefited nearly two million people.

Safa currently serves as the Permanent Representative of PVA to the United Nations and its Executive Director. PVA is an international organization with special consultative status at ECOSOC in New York and accreditation to the UN in Geneva and Vienna.

Born on March 8, 1991, in Borj Rahal, Lebanon, Safa studied modern and contemporary history before earning a master’s degree in space diplomacy and international relations. His PhD research focuses on the need to establish a World Space Organization within the UN system.

Embodied in his motto, “We are the people of the United Nations,” Safa’s work bridges communities and institutions to promote understanding, equity, and a more just, inclusive, and peaceful international order.
