Oubai Shahbandar is an award-winning international correspondent and documentary filmmaker with over a decade’s experience operating in various global conflict zones. He is TRT World’s defence analyst, where he provides expert commentary on geopolitical issues and global affairs. He wrote and produced ‘Black Orchards’ and ’44 Days: Karabakh War’ chronicling the Karabakh conflict. He also wrote and produced the award-winning documentary ‘A Butcher By Any Other Name’, covering the conflict in Syria. Prior to moving to Istanbul, he was based in Washington.
