Parfait Onanga-Anyanga SPECIAL ENVOY OF THE UN SECRETARY-GENERAL FOR THE HORN OF AFRICA

Parfait Onanga-Anyanga currently serves as the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Horn of Africa. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic. He was also the Coordinator of UN Headquarters Response to the Boko Haram crisis as well as Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Burundi and Head of the UN Office in Burundi. Previously, he served as the Director of the Office of the UN Deputy Secretary-General, Special Adviser to the President of the sixtieth and sixty-first sessions of the General Assembly, and the Chef de Cabinet to the President of the fifty-ninth session of the General Assembly. Before joining the UN, he was a diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Gabon.
