Dr. Serhat Orakçı graduated from Istanbul University’s Faculty of Economics in 2001 and completed his MA in Historical Studies at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2007. He has served as Project Director for the IHH Foundation in Sudan, where he contributed to community development projects, and as Africa Relief Coordinator from 2011 to 2016. Until 2024, he was a researcher at INSAMER (Social and Humanitarian Research Center).
In 2020, Dr. Orakçı earned his PhD from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, focusing on “The Question of National Integration in Sudan.” He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Haliç University.
