Stephen Cahill is the Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Türkiye. He previously led WFP’s Common Services within the Supply Chain Division, supporting more than 1,000 partners globally. As Chief of Logistics from 2019 to 2021, he directed WFP’s global COVID-19 logistics response, enabling humanitarian operations in 173 countries.
Throughout his career, Cahill has held several key leadership positions at WFP, including Global Logistics Cluster Coordinator and Head of Logistics in Ethiopia. He has contributed to major emergency responses in Ukraine, Mozambique, Sierra Leone during the Ebola outbreak, and the Philippines.
Before joining WFP, Cahill served as a director at a global shipping firm in London and gained extensive professional experience across South America and the Middle East. He holds a degree in Economics and Shipping.
