Tunç Demirtaş Researcher, SETA

Dr. Tunç Demirtaş completed his BA in International Relations at Uludağ University in 2012 and began working there as a research assistant the following year. He earned his MA in International Relations from the same university in 2015 with a thesis titled “The Role of Soft Power in Türkiye’s Africa Policy,” and completed his PhD in 2022 with a dissertation on “Risks and Opportunities in State Rebuilding: The Case of the Horn of Africa.”

His research focuses on the politics of the Horn of Africa, global and regional power competition on the African continent, and Türkiye–Africa relations. Dr. Demirtaş currently lectures at Mersin University and serves as a researcher in foreign policy studies at the SETA Foundation in Ankara, Türkiye.
