Victor Ponta FORMER PRIME MINISTER OF ROMANIA

Victor Ponta was the Prime Minister of Romania between May 2012 and November 2015 and was also the President of the Romanian Social-Democratic Party (PSD). He graduated from the University of Bucharest’s Law faculty and worked as a public prosecutor for the Anti-corruption and Criminal Prosecution Department at the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court of Justice. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 2004 as the youngest Romanian MP and was re-elected in 2008, 2012 and 2016.

While serving as Prime Minister of Romania, he overturned the harsh austerity measures the previous right-wing governments adopted while achieving impressive economic results.

Ponta is the Founder and Chairman of the Black Sea Regional Projects 2020 and also founded VP Projects Advisers.
