Vincent Biruta MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION REPUBLIC OF RWANDA

Dr Vincent Biruta, a medical doctor by training, has been the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda since 04th November 2019. He served as the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Rwanda from August 2017 to November 2019. Before that, Dr Biruta held several cabinet positions in the Government of Rwanda, including the Natural Resources portfolio from 2014 to 2017, Education from 2011 to 2014, Public Works, Transport and Communication from 1999 to 2000, and the Health docket from 1997 to 1999. He was the President of the Senate in the Parliament of the Republic of Rwanda and President of the National Transition Assembly.
He is an expert in Public Health and Nutrition at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and Planning and Management of Health Services in Developing Countries at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
